Portraits on Walls
6 November 2016
Germany 2008 – A series of posters for elections candidates covering the walls of Cairo, representing the relationship between the authority and the public and how they interact. It depicts the candidates’ aspiration for power that is showing on their faces, and how the people react to those posters. Some posters have been cutoff, others had sarcastic drawings on them expressing how the people are not interested in that candidate. Some portraits stayed on the wall for too long that they became a part of the wall. It doesn’t matter if the candidate wins or fails the elections, the only memory of him lies in the poster on the wall.
